Four Gone...

...eleven to go. Last time we meandered in traffic along Ponsonby Road, the Mini pop-up store on the corner of MacKelvie Street, and beside Workshop Ponsonby, was taking shape and looking a lot more interesting than the open air car park that was there. So too is the 'What's Your Number' campaign that coincides with the store's opening. Only 15 Mini Sohos have been made and these individually numbered vehicles are only available here in Aotearoa, and only available here online at the Mini Online Store. Four of the white silver beasts with varying individual embellishments have already sold and a quick look at the specs shows why. While you are there you can also buy something to wear (above) directly from the Mini-sponsored Stolen Girlfriends Club, and extended family and friends at Black Box. Roll on Mini Ponsonby...

BMW X1 in store at Workshop Ponsonby

Photo: Dylan Cherry

In the process of hosting four national fashion shows for Workshop to launch the new BMW X1 we pretty much fell in love with the car itself. This is a brilliant all-round vehicle that has all the bells and whistles you'd expect from BMW and is also the ideal 'getaway' car for adventurous New Zealanders - at an agreeable price. Recognising this, and in celebration of their new partnership with BMW, Workshop have placed one of the X1s into their lovely Ponsonby store - so you can see it for yourself. You can also enter a competition - a weekend at the new Hilton Taupo with an X1 to get you there and back and of course up the mountain - or anywhere in the region you want to go. Simply pop into the Ponsonby store in MacKelvie Street or enter online here, to be in to win.

Beam Me Into Ponsonby

Tonight, we were fortunate to be able to help Workshop Denim & Helen Cherry open their new store in Mackelvie Street, Ponsonby, and celebrate a new era for the iconic New Zealand fashion labels in Auckland's new fashion centrality, Ponsonby Road. The venue is not short on size or stature and resonates all that is good about both brands and their collaborative history. The work of artist Martin Popplewell is ubiquitous, with a substantial painting on the building's exterior, features and finishing around the room, a hand-painted Workshop logo on the building's facade, and a to-die-for rug near the changing rooms - all extending a love affair with collaborative art projects that has spanned three decades for founders Chris & Helen Cherry. Embellishing the family name tonight was head music man Dylan Cherry and his friend Jake and a bunch of hard-working staff and crew who have put in long hours of effort to ensure that this is the ultimate local store for the brand. Perfect then, that tonight should also signal the arrival of another new partnership, with one of the world's great car companies, BMW. The picture above was taken yesterday, of Helen alighting her new BMW in a pair of Alexander Wang's - which of course are only available at Workshop & Helen Cherry...more pics of the night to come.
