Time: Breastfeeding On The Front Cover

Ah breastfeeding. Such a controversial and sometimes taboo subject - when really, at the heart of it - it's all about feeding.

But what's this? A cover of Time magazine? With a breastfeeding mum of a three year old?

The question here is: do you really invest yourself and worry yourself by what someone else is doing?

It's posed to cause argument. I was taken aback initially. It's not everyday you see an image like this. But that's my own issue. I love breastfeeding. I breastfed for a long time. My babies loved it too.

The headline screams: 'Are You Mom Enough?' - which carries its own inference. She's doing what's right for her and her child. And that's good enough, isn't it?

Why do we care so much what others are doing? I need to focus on myself and my own family, and let you do your thing, you let me do my thing, unless of course it's posing a danger to someone. Deal?

Well. Well. Well.

I'm not sure what to make of Madge breastfeeding a dolly in her new clip.

I'm sure those cyber-crank-yanker-trolls wouldn't have a problem with this image, and at the end of the clip, tossing the (faux) baby off to the side.

But one thing's for certain.

She sure has big cans.

Lucky Madge.

URGENT DONOR CALL OUT: Breastfeeding Melbourne Mamas

I have removed this post as the family has now been inundated with milk donations and now has a waiting list. Thanks everyone.

Are there any breastfeeding Mamas in Melbourne, Australia who could be part of a milk tree?

More on Breastfeeding.

I'm pretty excited to be on JustB today talking a bit more about that photo - and my experience of breastfeeding.

This beautiful image is from Vogue Italia. Love.

Squishy. Soft. Supple. Boobies

I posted this video a few years ago, but I'm bringing it back. It's one of my favourites to watch over and over.

Well. That Was Ugly.

Well last night took a very different turn, and I can say with every inch of truth in my bones, I innocently posted that image - and overnight it caused a freaking riot on my Facebook page.

Let's recap:

- someone threatened to report me to the AFP for posting an image of a woman breastfeeding

- I got told I was a hippy feminist AND that I am a paedophile

- apparently my friends have low intelleck (sic)

- I was told I was a coward and a communist

- I got told I was Hitler

-  And I am the one who got a very firm rap over the knuckles from FB for posting the shot of the woman breastfeeding

Did I threaten anyone? Harass anyone? Bully anyone? No. I just stuck a photo that I loved on Facebook and the troll patrol came out in force.

Well screw them.
I stand my ground. Breastfeeding is natural and awesome and beautiful and brilliant - if you can do it.

Breasts. Made for Milk.

PS - image by Picasso - of a woman *gasp* breastfeeding

Let's Discuss: Breastfeeding

image source: Daughter of the Sun
I posted this photo on my Facebook page tonight. And it created much debate. And then it got deleted.

I am only hazarding a guess that someone found it offensive, flagged it, and Zuckerberg pulled it down. Ripped it straight off my PMM wall - blu tac and all, took all the comments and *POOF* it's gone.

It might not be everyone's style of breastfeeding, but I think it's pretty rad. If I could headstand, starkers, I'd be doing it in a flash.

Bon appetit baby. Bon appetit.
