So What Can I Tell You About This Week?

Oh man. Phew-eeee!

It's been a heck of a week. I've been body-slammed at work with lots on and I'm pooped. So I'm grasping at straws as to what to share.

- One more sleep 'til our habit forming starts, but ladies - can we start on July 2? Saturday? That is much better for me, but if you're busting to bust out your new habits, start tomorrow, I can dig it.

- It's rainy in Sydney. I love this shot of The Beatles. It reminds me of my Dad who introduced me to them - well their music, when I was around 9 or so. I loved lying on my tummy, next to the record player, listening to them, reading their lyrics. I think I was completely obsessed with the Sgt. Pepper's record cover and used to stare at it for what seemed like hours.

- Seeker Lover Keeper have released their debut album is out. You should get it. It's amazeballs.

- Bon Iver's new album is out. It's beautiful. You should get that too.

- I've eaten way too much cake.

- Matt and I are going on a date tomorrow night. Quelle romantique.

Anything to report? I'm listening.

It's Official!

It's my birthday! Yep - and as my Dad would say, ALL DAY!

Only2.75 hours to go.

Hot damn!

I've had three sittings of birthday cake.

Birthday messages.

Some glasses of champagne.

Some phone conversations.

And now damn blogger won't let me add a photo.

Please forgive me for this post sans photo! It's my birthday. You can forgive anything! Yes! Yes you can!

PS - PR companies and advertisers - I don't swap links, I'm not interested. Thanks BUT no thanks!

PPS - I got an image on. Yahoo!

Yo! Yo! Yo!

It is with great excitement that I holler from the tree tops - ALOHA!

For no special reason, other than to bust some rhymes and let you know:

Back in the habit is... BACK!

Are you busting to do something good

in the 'hood

Are you bursting to make a habit?

Frisky as a jack rabbit?

Join me for Back in the Habit now

It's certainly not low brow.

And I see your puzzled brow right now! Wondering, what the heck is PMM banging on about?

Well Back in the Habit is 21 days of assisted habit making. Uh huh. It's all about forming good habits peeps. We blog about it. We make habits. We heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race. Oh and then after 21 days et voila - a healthy habit formed. We did it last year. We'll do it again.

Will you join me to form a new habit?

My habit of choice? Actually it's habits. Habits peeps for me.

- walking every day

- taking my lunch to work, or at least making lunch every day at home. No cheeky lunches out.

- break my sugar habit. Or at least reduce it. Uh huh.

If you'd like to get Back in the Habit, comment below, and I'll add you to the roll. We kick off on July 1st. Or whenever you get your hiney into gear. Uh huh. And you can even grab the button if you're so inclined. Uh huh.

Together. In the Sunshine

Sundays are my favourite days of the whole week. It's the one day of the week when the four of us spend the whole day together. It's bliss.

It doesn't matter what we do, and rarely do we do anything fancypants, but we always just enjoy that time together. We might be schlepping around at home, doing the grocery shopping, or like this weekend, checking out the Archibald/Wynne/Sulman with hoardes of other people, then hanging about like sunflies in the sunshine at the Botanic Gardens.

Bliss I tell you!

So there we were. The four of us. In the sunshine. At the AGNSW, then hanging out at the Botanic Gardens - I do now declare, my favourite part of Sydney. The smalls spotted a dirty eel. And then another. And the eels seriously swim over to you. Gross man.

That top photo slays me. I have a cute attack every time I see it. My smalls checking out that filthy eel. So cute it brings a wee tear to my eye.

men's mag's bed side humor

i was flipping through Esquire with bradley cooper on the cover, for obvious reasons, when i stumbled across this very funny little bit of social commentary.

always effortless

emmanuelle alt. always has that effortless amazing glamor that is somehow casual. how does she do it? it looks like she barely wears a speck of makeup, hardly ever has jewelry on and yet looks decked out head to toe. she's a true fashion maven. truly.

Karen Walker's amazing Japanese fans

In this social network driven world of 'friends, likes and fans' it is both refreshing and endearing to discover the type of fans New Zealand designer Karen Walker has attracted in Japan in particular. So fervent are these followers that they regularly send Karen beautifully crafted hand-made presents as a token of their appreciation for her designs and the label in general. Some of the messages and images are impossibly cute, some detailed excursions into the active and creative minds of the fans, others personal travel stories - Karen Walker on tour. We asked Kate at Karen Walker to scan a few of these fabulously creative gifts so we could present them to you here on Blacklog. Enjoy...

Where's Tiny?

Can you spot Tiny amidst the jumble of soft toys, sunglasses and crowns that litter her bed?

Every night, as did the Doctor, she takes a whole bunch of her favourite things. No matter how big or small.

When I went to kiss her good night, at first I struggled to locate her. Ahh, sweet little cuddly Tiny. How I love thee!

khloe kardashian

of the kardashian/jenner clan, kim is obviously absolutely gorgeous and sticks out the most. but i feel like khloe doesn't get any credit for her looks and style. she's mostly made fun of for being the bigger of the sisters. i say hogwash - she's a normal woman and even smaller than most "normal" looking women. i kind of love her. we're similar in height and build so maybe i'm a little biased, but i think she's gorgeously adorable and funny.

she works some cute stuff. it's undeniable.

******

i also gotta admit, i love this kim confident yet casually comfortable and perfectly adorable outfit:

it may even be one of my favorite street style outfits

***

sorry i have been watching the keeping up with the kardashians and khloe & lamar shows on etv way too much these days.

BLACKLOG EDITORIAL #13: Lady Got The Blues by David K. Shields

On a recent sojourn to Sydney, Black photographer David K. Shields teamed up with stylist Cassandra Scott-Finn to shoot Eva at The Agency. Melbournian Scott-Finn's background includes a stint as assistant to Brana Woolf, editor-at-large for US Harpers Bazaar. Hair & make-up artist Sinden Dean has fashioned a glittering career working with Madonna, Kylie and Britney among others whilst Eva is yet another beautiful face from the impressive Sydney boutique model house The Agency.

Knicker Lover

The other day, right at the end of the day, when I was about to put pens down and go home, Matt texted me to tell me that Tiny had been carrying a pair of my knickers around all day. All day people.

You can imagine that my excitement of her flinging my knickers around was palpable.

Who doesn't want their knickers toted off to school? To shopping? Here. There. Everywhere.

And who doesn't want their husband to remove said knickers from child and gently suggest something else other than her mama's knickers?

Well thank goodness they were clean.

Tiny hooked onto those knickers and carried them around for the next day too. Because they are pink, they became an accessory.

I finally managed to sneak them from her clutches and back into my drawers (pun intended). But a big thank you to Tiny for socialising my underwear. I really appreciate it.

However, as a precautionary tale, never google images: big granny knickers. Never. Ever.

Blown Away

Check out this incredible video of uncontacted tribes. Really makes you contemplate your own life, right??

PS - Thanks for everyone's kind and supportive words about the Doctor. He's good. We're ok. It's something I have to keep in check from now on and be vigilant about. Like some kind of wild-eyed vigilante.

New Face: Rose at KHM Models

It's always interesting to shoot someone for the first time, particularly if they have never appeared in front of a camera before. This was Rose's first ever photo shoot and photographer Russ Flatt discovered very quickly that the camera loves her.
